Overview: HEART is a visionary arts-based psychosocial support program that brings the proven power of artistic expression to children affected by serious or chronic stress to help them process feelings and emotions related to stressful events and learn the critical skills they need to reach their true potential. HEART changes children’s lives. In the last 6 years, the global HEART program has supported more than 300,000 children in 20 countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.
Methodology: HEART takes place in schools, community centers, and other Child Friendly Spaces and supports children affected by poverty, conflict, violence, natural disasters, and illness. HEART supports children and youth age 3 - 20 and also support adults including parents, teachers, and community center facilitators.
