Please join the SEL Community of Practice on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 9:00am EST to further explore global momentum around SEL, some of the theoretical frameworks being developed to help us demonstrate the impact of SEL programming in crisis settings, and an example of local adaptation and implementation of the theory.
Jo Kelcey (NYU)will set the tone of the webinar, outlining the ongoing work of the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies to build the profile of SEL in
the Education in Emergencies sector and the relationship between psychosocial support (PSS) and SEL.
Andrea Diaz-Varela (Right To Play) will provide an example of integrated PSS -SEL programming and the process to develop an SEL framework for psychosocial well – being, highlighting theory, guidelines and related tool kits. Delveen Luqman (IRC Iraq) will describe the process of adapting a global SEL framework, curriculum and training to match local needs, challenges and strengths as part of a large-scale teacher training program in Duhok, Iraq.
The webinar will be moderated by Caroline Keenan, Senior Education Specialist at Save the Children.
